They have been playing together for many years; more than a decade ago they formed the quartet Mingo Sanpa & Bárez Bros., whose first release, Hometown Blues, came out in the summer of 2015.
With this quartet they won third prize at the European Blues Challenge, the most important blues competition in Europe and the second most important in the world, which held its tenth edition in the Swedish city of Malmö in 2022.
Mingo and Pablo have continued playing together nonstop, always surrounding themselves with the finest blues musicians from both the national and international scenes, who serve as their backing band.
In November 2023, they were invited as the only foreign act to perform at the PODLASKI MARATON BLUESOWY, the great Polish blues marathon that lasts 32 hours.
They master all styles of blues, but they especially love—and move effortlessly within—the realms of West Coast blues, Chicago electric blues, and jump blues.
Both have a perfect command of the blues language, which they demonstrate on stage, where they do not hold back in using the techniques they have mastered and learned from their favorite mentors over the years.
The name “Blues Blast” comes from the power and energy they transmit in their live shows.

Llevan muchísimos años tocando juntos, hace más de una década formaron el cuarteto Mingo Sanpa & Bárez Bros., cuyo primer trabajo «Hometown Blues» salió al mercado en el verano de 2015.
Con este cuarteto ganaron el tercer premio del “European Blues Challenge”, el concurso de blues más importante de Europa y segundo del mundo, que celebró su décima edición en la ciudad sueca de Malmö en 2022.
Mingo y Pablo han seguido tocando juntos sin parar, siempre rodeándose de los mejores músicos de blues tanto del panorama nacional como internacional, los cuales les sirven de banda de apoyo.
En noviembre de 2023 fueron invitados como única representación extranjera, a tocar en el “PODLASKI MARATON BLUESOWY”, el gran maratón de blues polaco que dura 32 horas.
Ellos dominan todos los estilos del blues, pero les encanta y se desenvuelven a la perfección tanto dentro del campo del West Coast blues, como del blues eléctrico de Chicago o el jump-blues.
Ambos conocen el lenguaje del blues a la perfección y lo demuestran en el escenario, donde no escatiman en usar la técnica que dominan y que han aprendido de sus discípulos favoritos, a través de los años.
El nombre de “Blues Blast” (Explosión de Blues”) viene de la fuerza y energía que transmiten en sus “shows” en directo.
